Net Metering

Net metering is an electricity policy that allows you to produce electricity (using solar energy) for your own use and export the excess energy produced to the national grid. This results in setting-off units against the electricity consumed during off-peak hours. In this way, you will either pay a reduced utility bill or get paid for excess energy exported to the grid.

In 2015, NEPRA issued its net metering regulations that allow the DISCOs in Pakistan to purchase excess electricity units produced by the consumers, and net them off against the units consumed from the grid. As per these regulations, any customer of the national grid (having a three-phase connection) can avail net metering facility starting from 3kW up to 1MW.

Net metering supplies substantial advantages in regards to power generation, earnings and investment in solar.

Zero Carbon is determined to help you at every step of the net metered installation process. The process begins with the installation of a net metered compliant solar power plant followed by an application submitted to the respective electricity company. The electricity company then runs an inspection and issues the NOC after full examination. Finally, an agreement is signed with the electricity company and a license is issued which allows the activation of your net metered solar system.

Zero Carbon is an Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) license holder under category ARE-VI. This is the highest level of license provided to a company.
